A beautifully crafted documentary, OCTOBER COUNTRY, is an intimate portrait of the Mosher family as they try to break the cycles of hard luck and bad choices that haunt the four generations of their family.
Shot over the course of a year, from one Halloween to the next, the ghosts of the Mosher family—war, teenage pregnancy, foster care and physical abuse—are unveiled and show just a few of the struggles lurking in America’s working class. As they turn the camera on his family, Donal Mosher and his co-director Michael Palmieri give the Moshers an honest and personal voice to the difficult issues that often tear apart homes and relationships, and the hope that one of them could just break the cycle.
